MENTORSHIP
We provide supplemental assistance and guidance to counselors who have completed our online course. We quickly discovered that even with 8 modules of intensive training, it is impossible for us to discuss all of the variations in counseling athletes among different sports. Advising a football player, tennis player, golfer, soccer athlete, or track and field star each demands different timelines and approaches that are unique to their sport.
Accordingly, counselors who take advantage of our Mentorship Program have the ability to contact us for help and assistance whenever they are confronted with a new or unique set of challenges while working with an athlete who participates in a different sport than what that counselor is familiar with.
In this program, we are usually “behind the scenes”, helping, guiding, and educating our fellow counselors as to HOW, WHEN, and WHAT to do and say in the next contact with their athlete.
Counselor Mentorship & Partnership
PARTNERSHIP
This arrangement serves as an alternative to the Mentorship Program. Our Co-Counseling arrangement is most suitable for counselors who have developed a level of expertise in another area, such as learning disabilities, performing arts students, or other specialized areas and they do not have the knowledge or desire to get involved with the athletic recruiting aspect of their student’s college search experience.
In cases like this, counselors will ask us to handle the athletic part of the college counseling while they deal with course selection, helping with applications and essays, etc. Thus, we each work directly with the student and his/her parents but also coordinate our respective counseling efforts with each other so that the “right hand always knows what the left hand is doing.”
