Collegiate Athletes Shine at the 2024 Paralympics: Team USA’s NCAA Connection

The 2024 Paralympic Games included 71 U.S. athletes with NCAA connections, highlighting the significant role of collegiate athletics in Team USA's success. Over 50% of the U.S. Paralympians on the 2024 roster competed in collegiate sports, spanning NCAA divisions, club sports, and other collegiate organizations. Athletes from 90 schools, including 71 NCAA institutions, represented the U.S., contributing significantly to teams like rowing, swimming, track and field, and wheelchair basketball. The USOPC and NCAA also launched paracollegesport.com, an online hub aimed at expanding adaptive sports programs on college campuses and supporting student-athletes with disabilities. The 2024 Paralympics in Paris featured over 4,400 athletes from around the world, competing in 22 sports across 17 venues from August 28 to September 8.
